Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 400 g flour
  • 125 ml water
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pack of yeast
  • 1,500 g onion(s)
  • 150 g bacon, diced
  • 20 g lard
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 g sour cream
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Caraway seeds
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 2 hours

Prepare a yeast dough from the first ingredients. Preheat oven to 50°C and place the mixing bowl with the yeast dough in the oven, then turn off the oven. Peel and thinly slice the onions. Place the lard in a large pot and add the bacon, then sauté both briefly. Then simply add the onions and sauté everything until the volume has reduced by about half. Let cool slightly, then add the sour cream, eggs, and spices and stir in. Knead the yeast dough and roll it out evenly on a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Place the onion sour cream mixture on top and preheat the oven. Bake the onion tart at 220°C for about 30 minutes.
