Onion cake without a base

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 large onions, approx. 650 g, or 500 g leeks
  • 100 g spelt flour (wholemeal)
  • 200 g low-fat curd cheese
  • 100 g buttermilk or milk, 0.1% fat
  • 1 egg(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • e.g. vegetable broth
  • Maggi
  • Herbs, dried
  • Parsley
  • some caraway

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

also very good with leek

Finely chop the onions or leeks. Mix the remaining ingredients (except the caraway seeds) thoroughly. Fold in the onions or leeks, pour into a casserole dish (e.g., 28 cm in diameter), sprinkle with caraway seeds, and bake. Depending on your oven, bake for about 45 minutes at 180°C, or less. My oven is very old and takes that long. I find the leek version almost tastier.
