Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

fried onion rings, snack

Peel the onions, cut into approximately 1 cm thick rings, and dust with a little flour. Heat the oil in a deep pot or deep fryer to 180°C. (In a pot: if bubbles form on a wooden skewer, the oil is hot enough.) Mix the remaining flour, salt, eggs, and beer into a smooth batter (it shouldn’t be too runny). Dip the onions in the batter, let them drain slightly, and carefully add them to the hot oil. Fry for about 2 minutes on each side. Remove the rings from the fat with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Serve with ketchup or garlic sauce.
