Ingredients

  • 4 Oranges
  • 1 Cinnamon stick
  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Food starch
  • 2 tbsp Orange liqueur
  • 2 Bullets Bourbon vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tbsp Chocolate flakes for sprinkling
  • Some amarettini

Instructions

  • Squeeze the juice out of an orange and put it in a saucepan. Peel the remaining oranges so that the white skin is removed and cut out the fillets with a sharp knife, catching the juice and adding it to the saucepan. Set the fillets aside.
  • Add the cinnamon stick and star anise with brown sugar to the orange juice and bring to the boil. Mix the cornstarch with a little water, add to the juice and simmer for about 1 minute. Set aside and add the orange fillets. When the juice has cooled down, add the orange liqueur, mix carefully and refrigerate.
  • Distribute the orange compote on dessert bowls, pour 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream on each and sprinkle with chocolate flakes.
  • If you like, you can sprinkle some crumbled amarettini on top.
