Oriental currywurst with mint fries and date mayo

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 tbsp Ras el Hanout
  • 1 tbsp Baharat
  • some olive oil for frying
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of saffron powder
  • 250 g tomatoes, pureed
  • 100 g tomato ketchup
  • 1 bunch of mint
  • 50 g dates
  • 100 g mayonnaise
  • 400g French fries
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 4 bratwursts or currywursts

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Briefly fry the spice mix in a little olive oil in a small saucepan. Add the whole garlic cloves. After briefly frying the spices, add the passata and bring everything together to a boil. Season the sauce with a pinch of sugar and a pinch of salt. Bring the tomato ketchup to a boil and add a pinch of saffron. Brown four fried or curry sausages in a little oil in a pan on both sides. Finely chop the dates and mint. Meanwhile, prepare the French fries in the oven or deep fryer. In a bowl, mix the cooked French fries with the finely chopped peppermint and a little salt. For the mint mayonnaise, mix the finely chopped dates, 100g mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Serve everything side by side.
