Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 2 large onions
  • 125 g ham
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 ball(s) of mozzarella

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

for a casserole dish

Slice 1 1/2 onions into rings. Heat a pan and fry the ham and onions. When the onions are translucent, add the cup of cream and season generously with salt and pepper. Dice the remaining half of the onion and mix with the minced meat, egg, and mustard. Season generously with salt and pepper. Form small balls and place them next to each other in a baking dish. Pour the onion and ham sauce over them. Finally, slice the mozzarella and place them over the meatballs. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) on the middle rack for approx. 15 minutes, or longer depending on the size of the balls, until the surface is lightly browned. The meatballs go well with boiled potatoes and a green salad. They also go well with pasta and rice.
