small Russian yeast rolls

1 cup is approximately 200 ml. Melt the butter, add the milk, and heat slightly until lukewarm, but not hot. Add the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast and knead into the dough. Let the dough rise, then form into balls about 3-4 cm in size. Place on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Cover and let rise for another 10 minutes, then cut a cross into the surface of the roll. Beat the egg with ½ teaspoon of sugar and brush the rolls with it. Sprinkle with sesame, black cumin, or poppy seeds to taste. Bake at 200-220°C until golden brown. During baking, press the garlic, add the olive oil, and heat through. Brush the hot rolls with the garlic oil. The rolls are a great addition to a cold buffet or as a side dish to soups, etc.
