Pao De Queijo

The perfect pao de queijo recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 250 g Wheat flour
  • 250 g Cornmeal
  • 0,5 packet Yeast
  • 0,4 l Lukewarm water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 125 g Grated cheese
  1. Dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water. Mix the flours with the salt and cheese. Add the water with the yeast and knead everything for about 5 minutes.
  2. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  3. Shape the dough into balls or a loaf of bread. Dust with a little flour.
  4. Bake on a tray in a preheated oven at 200 degrees. The loaf of bread takes about 1 hour, the balls about half an hour.
  5. As a variation, olive pieces or anchovies can also be baked in the dough.
