Paprika sauce for rice or pasta

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 bell peppers, red
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 2 small garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 2 tbsp ajvar
  • 250 ml soy cream (Soy Cream Cuisine)
  • 350 ml vegetable stock
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder, sweet
  • 1 pinch(s) caraway powder, small pinch
  • possibly cornstarch or flour
  • possibly water for mixing

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Halve the bell peppers, trim, and slice into thin strips. Finely slice the onions and sauté briefly in a little oil. Now add the bell peppers. Sauté the diced garlic cloves and deglaze with the broth and soy cream. Season the sauce with ajvar, paprika, salt, pepper, and a small pinch of caraway seeds, and simmer for 10 minutes. Thicken with starch or flour (mixed with a little cold water beforehand), if desired. Serve with rice, gnocchi, potatoes, spaetzle, or pasta.
