Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 can tuna in its own juice
  • 1 small shallot(s)
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 can of tomatoes, peeled, approx. 400 g or 500 g fresh tomatoes
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp cream cheese
  • basil
  • Sugar
  • 250 g penne (or another type of pasta if desired)
  • oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Barrel pasta and tomatoes

First, peel and finely dice the shallot, and do the same with the garlic. Heat the oil in a pan and sauté the shallot and garlic. Meanwhile, roughly dice the fresh or canned tomatoes. Drain the tuna (you can save the water if you like) and add it to the onion and garlic mixture, frying briefly. Then add the tomatoes and the tuna water and simmer. While the sauce is simmering, prepare the penne. Season the sauce to taste. Finally, stir in the cream cheese and add the basil. We also like to sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the finished dish. Enjoy!
