Greek ground beef macaroni casserole
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Brown the ground beef, add the diced onion and tomatoes, tomato paste, and garlic. Pour in the wine and broth, and season with cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Drain the pasta and toss with the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese. Butter a baking dish and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Add one layer each of pasta, meat sauce, pasta, and meat sauce. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Make the béchamel sauce: Melt the butter and stir in the flour. Carefully add the milk, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil until thickened. Remove from the heat and let cool slightly. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and eggs, and finally season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the béchamel sauce over the casserole and sprinkle with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and butter flakes. Place in the oven and bake for about 45 minutes.
