Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g minced beef
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 small onions
  • 1 bulb(s) garlic, red
  • 2 medium-sized tomatoes, sliced
  • 125 g ham, Schwarzwalder, sliced
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tsp salt and pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Meatloaf wrapped in Black Forest ham

Knead the minced meat with egg, tomato paste, and finely chopped onion. Season to taste with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic, preferably a little spicy (you can also add chili). Oil a loaf pan and line it with the ham. Pour in the minced meat mixture and cover with ham. The minced meat should be completely coated with ham! Finally, place a few tomato slices on top. This prevents it from drying out during baking and provides some cooking juices, which can be drained off later and used as a sauce base. Bake the pie at 180°C for about 40-50 minutes.
