Pea Soup with Bacon Croutons

The perfect pea soup with bacon croutons recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 liter Chicken broth
  • 1 kg Peas
  • 2 Discs Kaiserfleisch
  • Lard
  • 250 ml Cream
  • Milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Nutmeg
  1. Bring the chicken broth to the boil, add the peas and simmer for about 15 minutes. Then puree, I made it in a blender, it splatters less: D
  2. Add the cream to the pureed soup and possibly some milk if it is still too thick, bring to the boil again and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
  3. Cut the imperial meat into cubes, heat some lard in a pan and fry the bacon cubes until crispy.
  4. Serve the soup with the croutons and, depending on your taste, add a dollop of sour cream on top.
