Peanut and Raisin Bars
The perfect peanut and raisin bars recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 185 g Butter
- 60 g Brown sugar
- 125 g Light honey
- 125 g Peanuts and raisins, chopped
- 250 g Fine oat flakes
preparation
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
- Chop peanuts and raisins into small pieces
- Grease a flat baking pan with butter (about 35 x 25 cm)
preparation
- Put the butter, sugar and honey in a tall saucepan and stir over low heat until all the ingredients are liquid
- Stir in the peanuts, raisins and the oatmeal. Pour the mixture into the prepared form and smooth it out
- Now bake the whole thing in the oven for 20 minutes until the surface has turned a golden brown color.
- Mark the bars with a knife and let them cool completely in the mold.
- Now cut the bars completely apart and lift them out of the mold with a small, elastic knife.
- I used crunchy oat flakes in my attempt, unfortunately the bars broke a bit when I lifted them out (they still taste good) :-). The next time I’ll use the tender oat flakes, let’s see if they hold together better
variants
- Instead of peanuts, you can also mix walnuts, hazelnuts or almonds with the raisins. You can also just use nuts or raisins.
