Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 200 ml water
  • 5 slice(s) ginger , 5 – 8 slices
  • 200 g peanuts, 200 – 250 g
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), chopped
  • 60 g raisins or something else fruity
  • 1 garlic
  • 1 tsp, leveled chili powder or pepper
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce or other seasoning sauce
  • 2 tbsp fish sauce, anchovy paste or anchovies from the can
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

lightning-fast peanut sauce for Gado Gado, Satay or a Thai peanut curry, Indonesia

Wash the ginger and remove the woody ends. Cut 5-8 thin slices from the unpeeled ginger and blend them with the peanuts and water. Add the remaining ingredients and blend. Let the resulting sauce simmer for 5 minutes over low heat. Add salt to taste. Tip: You can use less water for satay. For gado gado, add the liquid used to steam the vegetables used in gado gado.
