Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 1 can of bread dough, e.g. Knack und Back
- 1 pack of mozzarella
- ½ jar pesto
- 4 tbsp butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic

Cut the bread roll dough along the marked lines, halve the pieces again, and press them flat. Cut the mozzarella into cubes. Place a teaspoon of pesto in the center of the dough, place a mozzarella cube in the center, and press up the sides of the roll to form a ball. Place the balls in an iron skillet or other ovenproof dish. Crush the garlic, stir it into the melted butter, and drizzle this over the balls. Bake the balls for about 25 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, until golden brown. Serve warm. Tip: Forming the balls can be a bit tricky because the dough doesn’t stick together well. Here’s a little trick: fold up all sides, hold them together with two fingers, and press them together. Then turn them over and place them directly in the dish so they don’t fall apart again.
