Philadelphia Cheesesteak Sandwich

The perfect philadelphia cheesesteak sandwich recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 piece Baguette
  • 300 g Fresh beef steaks
  • 8 disc Raclette cheese
  • 2 tbsp Clarified butter
  • 1 Pc. Onion
  • 1 Pc. Salt
  • 1 Pc. Pepper
  • 0,5 piece Green peppers
  • 2 tbsp Mustard
  • 2 tbsp Tomato ketchup

Note

  1. I always use beef minute steaks for the meat, as these are nice and lean. The raclette cheese should also be cut thinner, so it’s best to buy it at the cream cheese counter. If you like it a bit more American, you can also use Chester, in any case it should be a spicy cheese. Preheat the oven to approx. 200 ° top heat.
  2. First cut the meat into very fine strips. The thinner the better. Cut the onions into slices and dice the peppers. Fry the vegetables and meat in a (hot!) Pan with the clarified butter, salt and pepper until the desired cooking time is reached. If you prefer it medium, you should really only leave everything in there for a short time.
  3. Divide the baguette in the middle and cut in the middle, but do not cut through. Brush all sides with the mustard. Now put 2 slices of raclette cheese on each of the baguettes. Now distribute the meat-vegetable mixture evenly on top. Now distribute the rest of the cheese in equal parts.
  4. Now put the baguettes in the oven until the cheese has melted. Then pour the ketchup over it and enjoy while still warm. Bon Appetit 🙂
