Philipp's sautéed onions

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 2 tbsp, heaped butter
  • 2 tsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce, dark
  • 1 pinch(s) spice mix (tomato-mozzarella)
  • 1 pinch(s) of ground pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

perfect with rump steak or schnitzel

Peel the onions and slice them into half rings. I always remove the “heart” of the onions, but it’s certainly a matter of taste. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and add the half onion rings. After briefly sautéing the onions, season with the tomato-mozzarella seasoning and ground pepper, then add the tomato paste and soy sauce. Mix everything well and continue frying for another 2 or 3 minutes over medium heat, depending on your taste (I personally like it relatively dark).
