Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg beans (princess beans)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 350 g sugar
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • ¼ liter vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • 3 cloves
  • ¼ liter of water

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

sweet and sour

Clean the beans. Blanch them in boiling water for 5 minutes. Then plunge them into iced water and drain. Dissolve the sugar in 0.25 liters of water and heat. Add the spices and vinegar. Let it reduce slightly – you should have about 0.5 liters of liquid left. Layer the beans in prepared jars and cover with the liquid. Boil the jars for 60 minutes, or at least twice, drain the liquid after 24 hours, bring to a boil, and pour it over the beans again.
