Motif cake with pig in Kit Kat bucket
Line the bottom of a round 26cm springform pan with baking paper, sandwiching the baking paper between the ring and the base. Place the chocolate bars in pairs, upright, around the edge. Melt the chocolate in the microwave or in a double boiler and stick the bars together with a pastry brush, then spread the rest over the bottom. The end result should be a wooden bucket made of chocolate. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens again. Pigs: If you have white fondant or marzipan, color it and knead it well. I prefer to use icing color. It’s a gel that colors extremely well but has hardly any moisture; a tiny pinch should be enough. Now shape the pigs: three pig butts that will later peek out from the mud. One sitting pig that leans on the edge like in a bathtub, and one that floats on its back and has four legs, a head, and a big belly. Cream for the filling: Make the jelly with half the amount of water and 4 tablespoons of sugar. Allow to cool and wait until it starts to set slightly. Whip the cream together with the cream stiffener and vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form. Transfer to a bowl and carefully fold in the crème fraîche. Add the strawberries and mandarins and the jelly, mix everything briefly and chill until the cream sets slightly. To finish: Cut the cake base in half to create two thin layers. Place one layer at the bottom of the chocolate bucket and trim to the right size if necessary. Spread the fruit cream on top and place the second cake layer on top. Spread the Nutella on top. It will be easier to spread if you warm it briefly in the microwave. Press the pigs into the nougat cream and make a few more patterns.
