Pig or horse in the mud cake

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 Viennese floor, 3-layer, light or dark
  • 4 bananas
  • 1 packet of vanilla pudding powder
  • 500 ml milk
  • n. B. Sugar (according to package instructions)
  • 1 pack of gelatin powder
  • n. B. water
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • ½ jar Nutella
  • 13 long chocolate bars (KitKat or similar)
  • 250 g marzipan paste
  • Food coloring, red or cocoa powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 2 hours; Rest time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours 30 minutes

Prepare the pudding according to the package instructions using the milk and the amount of sugar specified on the package. Dissolve the gelatin in a little water and let it swell, then stir it into the still-hot pudding. Let it cool slightly, stirring occasionally to prevent a skin from forming. Whip the cream until stiff, then set aside. Place the bottom layer of the cake on a cake plate and place a cake ring around it. Peel the bananas and halve them lengthwise, then spread them on the cake layer. Fold the cream into the (lukewarm) pudding and spread half of it on the cake layer. Reserve about 2-3 tablespoons of the pudding to “glue” the chocolate bar fence together! Place the second layer on top, spread with the remaining pudding-cream mixture, and cover with the third layer. Let the cream set for a while in the refrigerator (or outside in winter). In the meantime, color the marzipan with food coloring or cocoa powder (knead patiently) and shape it into pigs or horses. Carefully remove the set cake from the cake ring and surround it with the chocolate bars (cut the Kit Kats in half and use “twos”). Use the reserved pudding as glue. Then place the cake ring back around the cake. Warm the Nutella slightly and carefully spread it on the cake. This will allow you to beautifully model the mud pattern. Once the Nutella layer has set (or firmed up) again, place the marzipan animals on the cake. Be sure to leave the cake ring on for transport. The finished cake looks pretty with a bow!
