Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 1 kg flour
  • 2 packets of dry yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 tbsp oil, neutral
  • ½ liter of water
  • 2 bunch spring onions
  • 2 small chili peppers
  • 1,000 g minced beef
  • some salt
  • Paprika powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 4 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 24 slice(s) of cheese
  • mayonnaise
  • Mustard
  • lettuce
  • ketchup
  • cucumber(s)
  • onion(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 1 hour; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours

The pita bread: Knead the ingredients into a smooth dough. Let it rise in a warm place for 2 hours. Then knead again, roll it into a log, and divide it into 10 pieces. Form rolls with a diameter of approximately 12 cm. Preheat oven to 250°C. Place 5 pieces at a time on a floured baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes on the lowest rack. Then bake for 5 minutes in the middle. When the dough starts to rise, gently press it down again. Chili burgers: Knead all ingredients well and make 10 burgers, the size of the pita rolls. Fry in a griddle pan for about 6 minutes on each side until cooked through. Now top the burgers as desired.
