Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g flour
  • 100 g fried onions
  • 200 g ham or salami
  • 200 g cheese (Gouda or Emmental), grated
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 250 ml milk

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

For us, the coins are a must-have at every party

Cut the ham or salami into small cubes. Combine the flour, fried onions, ham or salami, grated cheese, and baking powder in a bowl, then mix with 1/4 liter of milk. It’s best to line two baking sheets with parchment paper and shape the mixture into small discs. You can also use two teaspoons and form them into small piles, but experience has shown that it’s faster to shape the discs by hand. Depending on the size of the discs, I can’t say exactly how many you’ll end up with, but two baking sheets usually work. Personally, I prefer small discs. My husband always shapes large discs. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 15 minutes, until the discs are golden yellow (again, the baking time varies depending on the oven and the size of the discs).
