Plantain Film

The perfect plantain film recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 3 Pc. Plantains
  • Strawberries
  • Powdered sugar
  • Vanilla icecream
  • 200 g Panko flour
  • Sugar
  • Protein
  • Butter
  1. Halve the plantains, place in egg white and then turn and twist in panko flour. Let a large saucepan with plenty of oil get very hot and fry the plantain. Let it turn golden brown and then use a sieve to remove it from the pot. Cut the strawberries and take the ice cream out of the fridge.

caramel sauce

  1. Bring the water and sugar to the boil in a stainless steel saucepan while stirring with a wooden spoon. Then take a brush, dip it in the water and run it briefly around the inside of the pot under the liquid. Turn the boiling sugar mass down to medium heat and stop stirring. Let everything cook until the whole thing has a golden brown color (don’t let it get too dark). This takes about twelve minutes. Then take the saucepan off the stove and stir in the butter with the wooden spoon until it has melted. The whole thing is a bit chewy at first, but then dissolves and makes a nice smooth caramel sauce.
