Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 g minced pork
- 200 g minced beef
- 200 g minced young lamb
- 200 g minced veal
- 1 ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
- 1 tsp paprika powder, hot
- 3 rolls, soaked, squeezed
- 5 cloves garlic, finely diced
- 1 large onion(s), finely diced
- 200 g lard
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes
Croatian meatballs
Combine all ingredients, except the lard, in a large bowl and season to taste. Cover and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to allow everything to marinate. Season again if necessary. Form the meat dough into flat, approximately 12 cm meatballs. Heat half of the lard. Fry the meatballs in batches until brown on both sides. Heat the other half of the lard and fry the remaining meatballs until brown. Serve with ajvar, chopped onions, lettuce, and baguette.
