Pork fillet baked in cream sauce

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 300 g bacon, smoked streaky
  • 1 large pork fillet(s)
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • Spice Mix 1 from Maggi
  • 3 cups of cream
  • 3 cups of crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp sauce thickener, light
  • 250 g cheese, grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Finely dice the streaky bacon and separate the fat and meat. First, render the fat in the pan, then add the meat from the streaky bacon. Fry until crispy. Remove the cubes from the pan and set aside. Finish frying the prepared pork fillet pieces (approx. 3 cm thick) in the rendered fat, seasoning generously. Mix together the cream, crème fraîche, and gravy thickener. Place the fillet, then the bacon cubes, in a baking dish. Pour over the cream mixture and sprinkle with grated cheese. Bake in the oven at 200°C for 45 minutes. Serve with croquettes, salad, and fine vegetables. It’s a great dish to prepare ahead of time when guests are coming.
