Potato and Pumpkin Mash

The perfect potato and pumpkin mash recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 800 g Potatoes
  • 800 g Pumpkin
  • 1 Onion approx. 150 g
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 1 liter Water
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 Cube of beef broth 10 g (here: Von Knorr)
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 5 tbsp Milk or cream
  • 2 Strong pinches of salt
  • 1 Strong pinch of pepper
  • 1 Strong pinch of nutmeg
  1. Peel, wash and dice the potatoes. Clean, peel and dice the pumpkin. Peel and dice the onion. Peel and finely dice the garlic cloves. Put all ingredients (potato cubes, pumpkin cubes, onion cubes, garlic clove cubes and salt) in a saucepan, pour in water (1 liter) and let everything boil / simmer for approx. 25 – 30 minutes. Drain well, add butter (2 tbsp) and milk or cooking cream (5 tbsp) and work through / mash through with the potato masher. Season with salt (2 big pinches), pepper (1 big pinch) and nutmeg (1 big pinch). Mashed potato and pumpkin with fish fingers and pea and carrot vegetables served here.
