Potato and vegetable mash

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 150 g potatoes
  • 100 g carrot(s)
  • 50 g celery
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Salt and pepper, white
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel the potatoes, carrots, and celery and cut into cubes/slices. Add them to a pot of salted water. Cover and bring to a boil for 20-25 minutes. Then drain and reserve the cooking water. Return the pot to the stove and let the potatoes and vegetables cool briefly. Mash with a potato masher. Stir in the butter and mustard. If necessary, stir in a little more of the cooking water until the mash reaches the desired consistency. Season to taste and serve. Delicious with pan-fried dishes such as breaded black pudding, meatballs, etc.
