Potato, carrot and kohlrabi gratin

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 m.-large kohlrabi
  • 3 m.-large carrot(s)
  • 2 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 125 g ham, diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 400 ml cream
  • 2 tsp beef broth or vegetable broth, instant
  • 150 g cheese, grated

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Peel the potatoes, kohlrabi, and carrots and grate them into a bowl. Peel and dice the onions and fry them in oil. Add the ham cubes and fry them well. Transfer the mixture to the bowl and mix well. Grease a baking dish and spread the mixture evenly. Combine the cream and eggs and season with salt, pepper, and beef broth. Pour over the potato and carrot mixture and place in the oven at 200°C (convection oven). After about 20 minutes, sprinkle the cheese over the gratin. Return to the oven for another 40 minutes.
