Potato gratin

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 500 g potatoes, mainly waxy
  • 125 ml milk
  • 125 ml sweet cream
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • salt and pepper
  • rosemary
  • Butter for the mold
  • 3 tbsp cheese, freshly grated (e.g. Parmesan or Pecorino)

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Peel the potatoes and slice them into approximately 2 mm thin slices. Combine the milk and cream, add the finely chopped or crushed garlic, and season with salt and pepper. Add the rosemary and bring to a gentle boil with the potato slices. Then simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently and gently. Grease a baking dish with butter, pour in the potato mixture, and sprinkle with cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 220°C (top/bottom heat) for about 15-20 minutes on the middle rack.
