Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 kg potatoes
- 1 large onion(s)
- 100 g flour
- 100 g lard
- 2 eggs
- salt and pepper
Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours
Boil potatoes, peel, and press through a potato ricer, grate, or mash with a potato masher or fork. Add flour to the potato mixture, add the eggs, and then mix everything together. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté onions until translucent, add the potato mixture, and fry in the lard over medium heat for about 1 hour, turning frequently. Serve with sauerkraut or applesauce.
