Sweet sushi: It doesn’t always have to be fish and vegetables

Sweet nigiri with fruit

Nigiri is usually known as flattened rice balls with a slice of raw fish. Fruity rice pudding appetizers are also quickly modified from this.

  • Ingredients: 500 ml milk, 125 g rice pudding, a lemon, a pinch of salt, vanilla sugar, 200 ml apple juice, 1 tbsp sugar, chili and red pepper to taste, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp soy sauce, fruit as you like – the best strawberries and kiwis.
  • Preparation of rice pudding: Boil the milk in a saucepan. Add the rice, a little lemon peel, and salt. After boiling once, stir in the vanilla sugar. The rice pudding should then swell over low heat for about 30 minutes and then cool in a bowl.

  • Ingredients: 1 tbsp butter, 150 g long grain rice, 350 ml milk, 75 g white chocolate, 250 g marzipan paste, green food coloring, mango, and 50 g powdered sugar.
  • Preparation of the rice pudding: Foam the butter in a saucepan and sweat the rice a little. Then add the milk. With the lid on, the rice should simmer for about 15 minutes. Then remove the rice from the heat and stir in the chopped white chocolate.
  • Preparation of sweet “nori leaves”: Knead the raw marzipan mixture with the icing sugar and green food coloring. Then roll out the mass on foil to form a rectangle and spread the rice evenly over it.
  • Preparing the sushi: For the filling, all you have to do now is cut the fresh mango into small pieces and put it on the rice, and roll it up into a roll. The sweet rolls should then rest in the refrigerator for two hours and be cut into three-centimeter wide pieces before eating.
