Sushi without fish, but with lots of extra vegetables
The best alternative for fishless sushi is to simply omit it and replace it with veggies. You can let off steam and roll up whatever you want. The basic ingredients, sushi rice, and nori sheets remain the same, only the filling is varied.
- Sushi with cream cheese and cucumber: Spread the rice on the nori sheets and spread it with cream cheese. Cut the cucumber into strips, place it on top, and roll up.
- Sushi with avocado: A classic among the fishless sushi variants and also vegan. Simply cut open an avocado, place it in the roll, roll up and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- Sushi with mixed vegetables: Simply fill your sushi roll with any vegetables you have left over: cut carrots, peppers, and/or radishes into small pieces and roll them up. The whole thing can be spiced up with sesame seeds, which can be pressed into the rice on the outside or inside.
- Sushi with tofu: If you want your sushi to be completely different, you can use marinated or smoked tofu as a filling instead of fish. It is best to roll in cream cheese and vegetables and delicious sushi is ready.
- Wasabi, ginger, and soy sauce also go well with any sushi. Whether with or without fish – preparing sushi yourself is not only fun but is also a real treat for the palate.
