Pretzel dumplings

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 200 g pretzel(s) (lye pretzels)
  • 50 g ham, cooked
  • 50 g shallot(s), diced
  • 20 g butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 80 g flour
  • 1 tbsp thyme leaves
  • 150 ml milk
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Scrape the salt off the pretzels and dice them. Dice the ham and fry it in butter with the shallots. Add the eggs, flour, and thyme leaves to the pretzels, and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Heat the milk and add it. Mix everything together and let the mixture rest until the pretzels have absorbed the liquid. Form the mixture into dumplings and cook them in boiling water for about 15 minutes.
