Puff pastry tarte flambée with cheese, onions and bacon

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 1 pack of puff pastry from the refrigerated section
  • 2 onions
  • 1 cup cream cheese spread, 200 g
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 150 g bacon, diced
  • 1 bunch arugula
  • Pepper from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Peel the onions, halve them, and cut them into strips. Lightly fry them with the bacon and season with pepper. If you’d like to make the tarte flambée vegetarian, you can simply omit the bacon. Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the puff pastry. Mix the cream cheese with the milk, unroll the puff pastry, and spread with the cheese. Arrange the onion strips on top and bake in the oven at 180°C (fan oven) for about 20 minutes until crispy. In the meantime, wash the arugula, tear it into small pieces, and sprinkle it over the finished tarte flambée just before serving.
