Pulled Pork with Red Wine Tomato Sauce and Penne

The perfect pulled pork with red wine tomato sauce and penne recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Pulled Pork

  • 500 g Pulled Pork

  • 200 g Red onions
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Honey
  • 3 tbsp Oil
  • 250 ml Red wine
  • 400 g Tomatoes peeled canned
  • 100 g Celery
  • 2 tbsp Red wine vinegar
  • 1 bunch Spring onion
  • 1 tsp Dried basil
  • Salt and pepper

Pulled Pork

  1. Prepare the pulled pork according to the instructions on the package and pull it apart with the help of two forks. Pour off and collect the liquid shortly before serving and add to the sauce if necessary.

  1. In the meantime, cook the noodles in plenty of salted water until they are al dente.

  1. Peel the onions and garlic cloves and cut into fine strips. Heat the oil in a saucepan, sauté the onions, garlic and sugar. Deglaze with red wine. Let everything boil down a little.
  2. Add the tomatoes and simmer for 30 minutes. Now add the celery and season with vinegar, salt and pepper. Before serving, add the basil and spring onions.
  3. Now put the noodles on the plate, a portion of pulled pork and the sauce. Ready and enjoy your meal. If you want, you can tie the sauce a little before serving. Can but doesn’t have to, it’s a matter of taste. In children, replace the red wine with apple juice.
