Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pumpkin flesh (mustache pumpkin)
  • 4 m.-sized onion(s)
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 40 g ginger root
  • 2 small chili peppers (Thai chili peppers), red
  • 100 g sultanas
  • 200 g sugar
  • 300 ml water
  • 300 ml vinegar (white wine vinegar)
  • Salt and pepper, from the mill

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

A delicacy with shrimp and meat

Peel and finely grate the pumpkin. Peel the onions and garlic. Peel the ginger and finely chop everything. Halve the chili peppers. Scrape out the seeds and chop very finely. Combine all prepared ingredients with the sultanas and sugar in a large saucepan. Cook uncovered with water and vinegar over medium heat for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and pepper. While still hot, pour into twist-off jars and seal. Turn the jars upside down and allow to cool.
