Quark and semolina dumplings

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g quark (cottage cheese)
  • 50 g semolina
  • 50 g breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • some salt
  • 60 g butter
  • 100 g breadcrumbs, toasted
  • e.g. powdered sugar (icing sugar)

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Combine the curd cheese, semolina, eggs, breadcrumbs, salt, and butter and let stand for 15 minutes. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Using a tablespoon, form dumplings from the semolina mixture and let stand in the water for 10 minutes. Roll in toasted breadcrumbs and serve with powdered sugar. Serve with plum compote or strawberry jam.
