Quick crunchy muesli from the microwave

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 1 tbsp oil, preferably neutral
  • 4 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp, smothered cinnamon
  • 8 tbsp oat flakes, wholegrain

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

when there are only boring oatmeal in the house

Mix the oil, maple syrup, and cinnamon together in a bowl. Add the oats and mix until the oats are completely coated with the maple syrup-oil mixture. Spread them out flat on a plate or heat-resistant microwave-safe surface and microwave for 3.5-4 minutes at 800 watts until golden brown. Watch carefully at the end, as the oats can quickly turn golden brown to burnt! It’s best to stop and check every 15-30 seconds. The oats really need to be golden brown, otherwise the muesli won’t be crispy. Then let it cool. Only then will the muesli become crispy. This takes about 5-10 minutes. Remove from the plate and the muesli is ready to eat. You can also replace some of the oats with coconut flakes, nuts, almonds, flaxseed, etc. Or you can use other spices, such as vanilla, or add a little cocoa powder.
