Ingredients for 3 servings:
- 2 large kohlrabi, peeled, cut into bite-sized pieces
- ½ liter water, salted
- 1 pinch(s) of sugar (generous pinch)
- Salt
- 1 tsp cornstarch (Mondamin)
- 1 tbsp parsley (frozen)
- Nutmeg, freshly grated
- 3 tbsp water, cold
- Pepper from the mill
Instructions
Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes
without cream
Add the sliced kohlrabi to boiling salted water, don’t forget the pinch of sugar (this prevents the kohlrabi from becoming bitter later). Simmer for about 15 minutes. Drain most of the cooking water, then season with salt, freshly ground pepper, and, ideally, freshly grated nutmeg. Now, mix Mondamin with 3 tablespoons of cold water to thicken the vegetables. Finally, don’t forget the parsley—it not only complements the vegetables visually, but also adds a very special flavor.
