Instructions
Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes
Cut the peach halves into quarters and line the cake tin with them. Separate the eggs and place the yolks and egg whites in separate bowls. Add the sugar to the egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form. Then add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, whisking continuously. Sift in the flour and baking powder and mix well. Now add the sugar to the egg yolks, then add the milk, oil, and vanilla extract, and finally sift the flour and baking powder back into the batter. Mix everything well. Pour about half of the light batter into the cake tin over the peaches. Then sift about 1/3 of the cocoa powder generously over the light batter. Pour half of the yellow batter into the cake tin and then sift the cocoa powder generously over the batter. Repeat with the remaining batter and cocoa powder. Finally, place a yellow layer of batter on top. Place the cake tin in the preheated oven at 170°C (top and bottom heat) for 50 minutes. After baking, turn the cake out and decorate it with powdered sugar. It’s a great idea for when family or friends come over for a surprise visit. You don’t need much for this delicious peach cake; you probably already have most of the ingredients at home.
