Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 500 g tomatoes, pureed
- 500 ml water
- 1 tbsp basil, dried
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 garlic clove(s)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp vegetable broth, instant
- some salt and pepper
- some curry powder
- some oregano, dried
- Balsamic vinegar, dark

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Finely chop the garlic clove and sauté briefly in olive oil. Add the passata, water, vegetable stock (powder), dried basil, sugar, and, if desired, a little oregano and/or curry powder. Season with salt and pepper. If the tomatoes are already quite sweet, you can balance it out with a splash of dark balsamic vinegar. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Tastes great served with white baguette and a sprinkle of freshly ground sugar.
