Red Cabbage Gratin

The perfect red cabbage gratin recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 700 g Fresh red cabbage
  • 600 g Floury potatoes
  • 2 Apples
  • 1 Diced onion
  • 200 g Cream / sour cream 20% fat
  • 100 g Mozzarella
  • 1 tablespoon Cane sugar
  • 2 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar
  • 5 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil
  • Black pepper from the mill
  • Salt
  1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees and cook the potatoes in their skins for 25 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, chop the red cabbage, onions and apples.
  3. Fry the red cabbage with the onions and apples in the pan. Peel the potatoes, mash them, mix them with the sour cream, season with salt and pepper.
  4. Put the red cabbage in a baking dish with three tablespoons of olive oil and two tablespoons of balsamic vinegar. Stir. Top with the potatoes and the mozzarella. Pour over two tablespoons of olive oil and pepper.
  5. Approx. Bake in the oven at 200 degrees for 60 minutes.
