Red cabbage salad with walnuts

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g red cabbage
  • 4 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil (walnut)
  • 80 g walnuts, chopped
  • 100 ml water
  • Salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

Cut the red cabbage into thin strips, add a little salt, stir, and let stand for 30 minutes. Then shred the cabbage. Whisk together the vinegar, sugar, and oil and stir in 100 ml of water. Add a little pepper. Stir everything together with the red cabbage and let stand for another 30 minutes. Serve the salad and sprinkle with the chopped walnuts.
