Refreshing orange iced tea

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 orange(s), untreated
  • 4 carnations
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 4 tsp honey, liquid
  • 500 ml green tea
  • 125 ml pineapple juice
  • Nutmeg, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Rinse the oranges thoroughly under hot water and dry. Pierce 1 orange four times with a fork and stud with cloves. Squeeze the juice from the other oranges. Place the studded orange in a saucepan. Add the cinnamon and orange juice and heat everything through. Simmer for about 5 minutes, then remove from the heat and let steep for about 30 minutes. Remove the orange and cinnamon from the pan and mix the liquid with honey, tea, and pineapple juice. Season to taste with a little nutmeg and refrigerate. Fill 4 drinking glasses with ice cubes. Pour over the well-chilled tea and sprinkle with nutmeg. Garnish with some orange peel, if desired.
