Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g butter, or clarified butter
  • 40 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 2 tbsp rum
  • 250 g wheat flour
  • Fat, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Melt the butter (clarified butter) in a saucepan and transfer it to a bowl. Allow to cool to lukewarm. Then beat with a mixer on high speed until smooth. Gradually stir in the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt. Then stir in the egg and rum. Divide the flour into two parts. While stirring, add one part and knead in the other half. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 3 cm and cut into 7 cm diamond shapes. To fry, heat the oil in a deep fryer. Fry the dough in batches on both sides for 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Then drain on kitchen paper and dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
