Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 500 g honey
- 300 g sugar
- 3 eggs
- 15 g ammonium bicarbonate
- 1 tsp cinnamon, ground
- 1 tsp, levelled clove(s), ground
- 1 pinch of nutmeg
- 1 pinch of coriander, ground
- 1 pinch of ginger powder
- 1 tsp. allspice, ground
- Pinch of cardamom, ground
- 1 tsp, heaped pepper, white
- 1 kg flour
- Butter or margarine for the baking tray
Instructions
Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Allow the honey to thin over low heat. Mix the sugar, eggs, baking powder, and all the spices thoroughly with the honey. Gradually stir in the sifted flour, then knead in. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius (300 degrees Fahrenheit). Form the dough into small balls about 2 cm in diameter and place them on a greased baking sheet, leaving enough space between them. Bake the gingerbread cookies on the middle rack of the oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Mix the powdered sugar with water and coat the gingerbread cookies with the glaze.
