Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 450 g potatoes
  • 250 g white cabbage
  • 1 large onion(s)
  • 150 g Cheddar cheese
  • 60 g butter
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Quickly prepared casserole from Scotland

Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Finely chop the white cabbage and thinly slice the onions. Fry the onions with butter over low heat for 10 minutes. Add the white cabbage and fry for 5 minutes, stirring. Meanwhile, peel the potatoes, cut them into eighths, and boil them in salted water for 8 minutes. Drain and roughly mash them. Add the potatoes to the cabbage. Season with salt and pepper, and fold in 2 tablespoons of the cheese. Transfer everything to a baking dish, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and bake for about 20 minutes.
