Sage potatoes from the oven

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 12 medium-sized potatoes, mostly waxy
  • 80 g butter
  • 24 sage leaves, fresh
  • Sea salt or coarse table salt
  • Pepper, freshly ground

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 55 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Preheat oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Wash the potatoes and brush them thoroughly. Cut a small checkered pattern into one side. The cuts should go halfway through the potatoes. Place the potatoes on a baking sheet with the “cut” side facing up and drizzle with half of the melted butter. Bake for about 45 minutes. Remove the potatoes and insert sage leaves into the cuts (the back of a knife works well). The amount of sage leaves is a matter of taste; you can use more or less. Drizzle the remaining butter over the potatoes, season with salt and pepper, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
