Salad "Milan" with Serrano ham and caramelized chicken breast

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of iceberg lettuce
  • 100 g Serrano ham, sliced
  • 2 balls of mozzarella
  • 500 g natural yogurt, low-fat
  • 250 g chicken breast fillet(s)
  • 1 jar of tomatoes, sun-dried
  • 90 g pesto, green
  • 20 g butter
  • 1 pinch(s) of sugar
  • 1 pinch(s) of salt and pepper
  • 4 slices of toast

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Cut the ham and sun-dried tomatoes into pieces. Also cut the chicken breast into pieces and fry in a hot pan. Briefly remove the chicken breast pieces from the pan. Caramelize the butter and sugar together, then toss the meat in the caramel. While the meat is frying, wash and chop the iceberg lettuce and slice the mozzarella. For the dressing, stir the pesto into the yogurt in a bowl. Season the dressing with salt, pepper, and sugar. Finally, mix all the ingredients together and serve. I think this salad is absolutely delicious and see it as a good alternative to regular Caesar salad, which is also tasty but is a classic and available almost everywhere. As you cut the ham, you notice a special aroma that is incomparable to other types of ham, such as Black Forest ham.
